Jeddah, September 27 (QNA) - The United Arab Emirates secured their place in the semi-finals of the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup with a convincing 3-0 victory over Bahrain at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah on Saturday.

The tournament is being hosted in Jeddah through October 6.

Othman Kamara opened the scoring for the UAE in the 30th minute, before Guilherme da Silva doubled their advantage in the 66th minute. Ali Saleh completed the scoring in the 88th minute.

The result also confirmed Qatar's qualification for the semi-finals alongside the UAE from Group B, following Qatar's 1-0 victory over Yemen earlier on Saturday.

The UAE moved to six points after opening their campaign with a 4-0 win over Yemen. They currently lead Group B on goal difference ahead of Qatar, who have the same number of points. Bahrain and Yemen, meanwhile, have been eliminated from contention for the semi-finals.

The UAE established clear control of the match and took the lead in the 30th minute when Kamara headed home a precise cross from Yuri Silva.

The Emirati side continued to apply pressure and came close to extending their lead in the 53rd minute. Marcus Meloni delivered a cross into the area, which Nicolas Gimenez met with a powerful header that struck the crossbar.

The UAE eventually doubled their advantage in the 66th minute. Guilherme da Silva received a pass from Meloni, drove into the area and fired a low shot into the bottom-left corner beyond Bahrain goalkeeper Ibrahim Lutfalla.

The UAE sealed the victory two minutes from time when Ali Saleh raced through on goal and calmly finished into the net in the 88th minute to complete a comprehensive 3-0 win. (QNA)
