Doha, September 26 (QNA) - Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) has announced the accreditation of the first batch of Energy Service Companies (ESCOs).
This comes as part of its efforts to develop the energy efficiency services market in the State of Qatar and enhance the quality and reliability of services provided to facilities and buildings, including consumption efficiency audit services, according to KAHRAMAA's press release Saturday. 
This initiative supports the achievement of the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, the Third National Development Strategy (QNDS3), and the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency "Tarsheed" in improving resource efficiency and advancing sustainability.
The first batch includes four accredited companies: Conserve Green Building and MEP Solutions, Siemens, Mannai Energy, and Alliance Technologies.
This accreditation reflects KAHRAMAA's commitment to promoting specialized professional practices in the field of energy efficiency and improving the quality of technical studies and recommendations. 
It contributes to identifying opportunities to reduce energy consumption, enhancing the operational efficiency of systems and equipment, minimizing electricity and water wastage, and supporting the State's efforts to achieve environmental sustainability and conserve natural resources.
The accreditation of these companies represents an important step toward establishing a list of qualified Energy Services Companies that meet clearly defined technical requirements and standards. 
This strengthens confidence in energy efficiency services, including consumption efficiency audits, and assists both public and private sector entities in making informed decisions regarding the implementation of efficiency improvement projects and achieving measurable savings in electricity and water consumption.
KAHRAMAA's Conservation and Energy Efficiency Department oversees the ESCOs accreditation process, including the development of technical requirements and standards, review of applications and supporting documents, verification of technical capabilities and experience of applicant companies, and monitoring compliance with the applicable regulations and requirements. 
The department also contributes to developing the sector and enhancing the quality of its services, thereby supporting the identification of measurable savings opportunities and the implementation of energy efficiency solutions based on reliable professional principles and best international practices.
The accreditation of Energy Services Companies also contributes to the growth of the energy efficiency market and specialized technical services sector, encourages investment in innovative technologies and solutions, enhances private sector competitiveness, and creates high-quality employment opportunities in sustainability, resource management, and engineering services. 
Furthermore, it helps reduce operational and consumption costs across various facilities and establishments, improves productivity and operational efficiency, promotes the optimal use of resources, and supports sustainable economic development and the economic diversification objectives of the State of Qatar.
In this context, KAHRAMAA has invited qualified companies seeking accreditation to submit their applications electronically through the Corporation's official website and complete the required information and supporting documentation in accordance with the approved procedures and standards.
