New York, September 25 (QNA) - Addressing the 81st UN General Assembly session, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam affirmed that Lebanon seeks an immediate ceasefire and a full Israeli withdrawal to internationally recognized borders in accordance with UN Resolution 1701.
Salam emphasized that only the state holds the mandate to negotiate, rejecting proxy conflicts on Lebanese soil. 
He called for a clear implementation timeline, the release of prisoners, safe return for displaced citizens, and post-war reconstruction.
Warning against a security vacuum should UNIFIL withdraw without an agreed international replacement, Salam urged the international community to maintain humanitarian funding and support early recovery efforts. (QNA)
