New York, September 24 (QNA) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Wednesday that Moscow was ready to negotiate a long-term and sustainable settlement to the conflict in Ukraine, while emphasizing that Russia won't halt its military operations during the negotiations.
Speaking at a UN Security Council meeting on Ukraine, Lavrov echoed President Vladimir Putin's repeated remarks on this matter.
Lavrov said European countries are seeking a halt to military operations to gain time to replenish the Ukrainian forces' weapons supplies, arguing that the Ukrainian military's arsenal has been depleted.
He added that the United States remains interested in facilitating a settlement on Ukraine, noting that US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner confirmed that during their latest visit to Moscow.
The Russian foreign minister added that the European Union continues to provide financial and military support to Ukraine, criticizing that support. (QNA)
