New York, September 24 (QNA) - Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Nabil Fahmy discussed on Thursday with Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa the latest developments in Syria and regional and international developments, on the sidelines of the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Fahmy affirmed the League's keenness to support the Syrian state during the next stage in preserving the unity and sovereignty of its territory, supporting economic recovery, and advancing reconstruction and development.

Fahmy also discussed with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov regional and international developments, ways to enhance Arab - Russian cooperation, and mechanisms for joint consultation and coordination. The two sides exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and developments concerning the Palestinian cause. (QNA)
