New York, September 23 (QNA) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with US President Donald Trump efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war, including prospects for an energy ceasefire between Kyiv and Moscow.
Speaking to reporters following his meeting with President Trump on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Zelenskyy said Ukraine was ready for any format of an energy ceasefire with Russia. He stressed, however, that there had been no discussion of Ukraine unilaterally halting its attacks on Russian oil refineries.
Zelenskyy also reiterated his readiness to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in a trilateral meeting involving Trump, saying he hoped the United States could find a way to bring Moscow back to the negotiating table after talks broke down earlier this year. (QNA)
