Islamabad, September 21 (QNA) - The Pakistani military conducted surgical airstrikes Monday on strongholds and training camps of the Pakistani Taliban and allied groups in border areas with Afghanistan, the Pakistani Information Ministry said in a statement.

The statement added that the strikes were scrupulously conducted based on reliable intel and resulted in taking out 28 militants and obliterating three targets.

The strikes were carried out in retaliation for a series of armed incidents that have recently gripped areas across the country, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the statement continued.

It asserted that the operations weren't limited to airstrikes, but also involved boots on the ground, based on tipped-off intel, in multiple areas across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to infiltrate militant groups' hideouts. (QNA)
