GCC, UN Chiefs Meet to Discuss Latest Regional Developments
New York, September 19 (QNA) - Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi and Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres met Saturday on the sidelines of meetings of the 81st session of the UNGA in New York to discuss the regional state of play.
The two sides addressed avenues for bolstering GCC-UN cooperation to serve their shared interests.
Both sides lambasted the Houthi attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and civilian assets, as well as the threat these assaults pose to security and stability in the region. They also went over several regional issues and ongoing efforts regarding them.
The UN chief hailed the feats the GCC nations have achieved in terms of development, progress and prosperity, along with their regional and global efforts to strengthen security and stability. (QNA)
