Doha, September 02 (QNA) - The Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee reviewed the latest preparations for the fourth edition of Web Summit Qatar, taking place in Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from Jan. 31 to Feb. 3, 2027, during its regular meeting in Doha.

The meeting was chaired by Director of the Government Communications Office (GCO) and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee, Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani. It brought together members representing government entities and strategic partners, including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Investment Authority, Invest Qatar, Qatar Tourism, and Qatar Airways, alongside members of the Web Summit team.

More than 70 global partners have been confirmed for the 2027 edition, alongside trade delegations from the Netherlands, Germany, France, Pakistan, Bahrain, Italy, Turkiye, and Palestine.

HE GCO Director and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee said, “For the fourth edition of Web Summit Qatar, we are focused on turning growing global interest into real opportunities for Qatar’s private sector and startup ecosystem by connecting startups with investors and global markets and attracting international partners and expertise.”

He added, “More than 70 global partners have already joined the upcoming edition, reflecting the summit’s growing international profile and its role in advancing innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic diversification in Qatar.”

A key focus of the meeting was the Runway to Web Summit Qatar Embassy Series, delivered in partnership between the GCO and Web Summit in major technology and innovation hubs worldwide, including Washington DC, Stockholm, and Berlin, among others. The series aims to build partnerships and deepen international engagement ahead of the summit.

The committee also discussed the Road to Web Summit Qatar, a bootcamp that will prepare a cohort of Qatari startups for investor meetings and the PITCH stage competition at Web Summit Qatar 2027.

Web Summit Qatar is the fastest-growing technology event in the Middle East and North Africa, bringing together global technology leaders, investors and decision-makers while advancing Qatar’s economic diversification and digital transformation. (QNA)
