Paris, September 17 (QNA) - Jordan and France signed on Thursday a defense cooperation agreement aimed at deepening partnerships to serve the best interests and contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region.
The Jordan News Agency - Petra revealed that the signing came about at the sidelines of discussions held by King Abdullah II of Jordan and the French President Emmanuel Macron in Les Invalides in Paris.
The talks touched on ways of strengthening cooperation, in addition to several regional topics of mutual interest.
King Abdullah II of Jordan affirmed during the talks the importance of partnership between Jordan and France in many key fields, stressing the importance of intensifying international efforts to restore calmness in the region and the importance of respecting the sovereignty of Arab countries and work to ensure its safety.
On the other hand, Macron expressed France's support for all procedures taken by Jordan to ensure its security and the peace of its people. (QNA)
