European Stocks Close Mixed
Brussels, September 14 (QNA) - European stock indexes closed mixed on Monday amid a broad sell-off in shares of companies linked to the artificial intelligence sector, as oil prices and sovereign bond yields rose.
The pan-European Stoxx Europe 600 index fell about 0.5 percent to 636.02 points. France's CAC 40 in Paris closed 0.76 percent lower, while Germany's DAX fell 0.50 percent.
Italy's FTSE MIB ended down 1.68 percent. In contrast, Britain's FTSE 100 in London rose 0.44 percent, buoyed by gains in major oil companies following a sharp increase in crude prices.
Most sectors on the Stoxx 600 declined as oil prices rose more than 2 percent amid growing concerns over supplies. The European energy sector was the exception, gaining 0.4 percent. (QNA)
