New Delhi, September 13 (QNA) - Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has stressed that nothing short of respecting the security of the Arabian Gulf and the sovereignty and independence of its nations can stabilize the region.

He emphasized that what matters most is never meddling in the internal affairs of those nations and only committing to the principles of neighborly relations and resolving disputes through peaceful means.

Speaking at the second-day session of the 2026 BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India, the Saudi Foreign Minister added that in the wake of current developments, the priority in the region should be focused on de-escalation and unlocking prospects for political and diplomatic endeavors.

Compromising the Kingdom's security, territorial integrity and assets is a non-starter, the Minister underlined, continuing that the GCC nations would never accept their territories, or critical interests being targeted whatever the pretenses or names are.

He underscored the importance of safeguarding the freedom of navigation and safety of commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and the rest of the maritime lanes, contending that any potential perturbation there would spill over into global markets, as well as supply chains and economic growth.
