Doha, September 13 (QNA) - Qatar SC has confirmed that Brazilian midfielder Bruno Tabata has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during the club's Qatar Stars League match against Al Arabi in the fourth round of the Doha Bank Stars League.

The club said in a statement on Saturday that medical examinations confirmed the first-team player had sustained an ACL tear. Tabata is expected to undergo surgery in the coming period, followed by a rehabilitation programme.

Qatar SC added that the 28-year-old is expected to be sidelined until the end of the season, with the club hoping he can make a full recovery and return to action stronger after completing his rehabilitation.

Tabata is one of Qatar SC's key players, with his skills and experience making him an important part of the team's plans. The club had been relying heavily on the Brazilian during the current campaign before the injury forced him into a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
