Paris, September 11 (QNA) - The Arab World Institute in Paris has announced the winners of the fourth edition of its Design Prize, which celebrates innovative work in design, architecture and contemporary crafts across the Arab world.
According to an institute statement, Saudi designer Aseel Al Amoudi won the Emerging Talent Award for her work "Forming Through Play," while Altin Studio, founded by the duo Yasmin and Mehdi, received the Contemporary Crafts Award for "Our Trilogy in AlUla," a project bringing together Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.
Fakhar Studio, founded by Christopher Ghosoub, won the Impact Award - Arab Bank Switzerland for its project "Fakhar Beit Chabab: Reviving a Rural Craft Economy," from Lebanon. The Grand Prize went to Salima Naji Studio for its project "Tiznit Heritage Interpretation Center" in Morocco.
The jury also awarded its prize to Jordanian architect Suhail Al Hayyari, while Areen Hassan received the Audience Award for her work "Reclaiming Land Through Weaving," which brings together Palestine, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates.
The fourth edition of the prize is being held as part of Paris Design Week. The shortlisted projects are on public display at the Arab World Institute in Paris as part of an exhibition featuring works by participants in this year's competition. The 2026 Design Prize exhibition runs from September 10 to 20.
The Arab World Institute Design Prize recognizes innovative achievements in design, architecture and craftsmanship. It also seeks to support emerging talent, designers, architects and brands across the Arab world, while highlighting the region's expertise and cultural identities through design.
The first edition of the Arab World Institute Design Prize was held in Paris in 2023, with the aim of showcasing the work of emerging and established designers from the Arab world and strengthening cultural and artistic ties between the Arab world and France. Since its launch, the prize has become part of the wider program surrounding Paris Design Week. (QNA)
