Manama, September 10 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the 29th meeting of Their Excellencies the Ministers concerned with municipal affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held on Thursday in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The State of Qatar's delegation was led by HE Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya.
The meeting addressed several items on the agenda aimed at enhancing cooperation, joint coordination, and the exchange of expertise among GCC countries in the field of municipal affairs, thereby contributing to the development of municipal services and improving the quality of life across the Council's member states.
The meeting included a ceremony honoring the Ministry of Municipality of the State of Qatar as part of the GCC Municipal Work Award. The Ministry received two of the five winning positions for its submissions: "Best Practices in Sustainable Urban Landscaping," presented by Ministry's Public Parks Department, and "Al Wakrah Sustainable Community Park," presented by Al Wakrah Municipality.
This achievement reflects the State of Qatar's efforts to develop the municipal work system and enhance sustainability and quality of life, as well as the initiatives and exemplary practices adopted by the Ministry of Municipality to advance urban development and elevate the services provided to the community.
