Doha-Nevada, September 10 (QNA) - Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) today announced its participation in Positron AI's USD 875 million Series C financing, which values the AI inference hardware company at USD 5 billion.
The financing was co-led by NEA, Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners, Andra Capital, Jim Clark, founder of Silicon Graphics, and Netscape, and other investors. QIA also participated in Positron's Series B funding round in February 2026.
Positron AI builds hardware and software designed to make AI inference, the process of running trained AI models, more cost- and energy-efficient. As demand for AI agents, assistants and copilots grows, inference infrastructure is increasingly constrained by memory capacity, memory bandwidth, and power requirements.
Positron's memory-first architecture is designed to address these challenges while reducing reliance on constrained High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and Chip-on-Wafer-on-Substrate (CoWoS) supply chains and enabling deployment across both air-cooled and liquid-cooled data centers.
The new financing will support the development and commercialization of Positron's next-generation technology, including the tapeout of Asimov, Positron's next-generation silicon, and the production ramp of Titan, its multi-terabyte-memory inference system.
AI inference is an increasingly important part of the global technology infrastructure landscape, and QIA's investment reflects its continued focus on backing innovative companies driving the next phase of AI adoption and long-term growth. (QNA)
