Continued Israeli Aggression Undermines Region's Stability, Arab League Says
Cairo, August 07 (QNA) - The League of Arab States warned of the consequences of Israel's approach of using force and changing the status quo on the ground, including the targeting of civilians and facilities in both the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, as well as carrying out repeated attacks against Lebanon and Syria and violating their sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a statement issued today, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Nabil Fahmy, said Israel's arrogance, its continued pursuit of this approach, and the expansion of its use of force would not bring it security or stability, but would instead further escalate tensions, widen the scope of the confrontation, and threaten the security of the entire region.
The statement stressed the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Arab states, end attacks on Lebanon and Syria, bring Israel's occupation of Arab territories to an end, and establish an independent Palestinian state along the borders of Jun. 4 of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
