Arab League Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi, in Yemen
Cairo, August 07 (QNA) - The League of Arab States condemned attacks carried out by the Houthi group on the Najran region of Saudi Arabia, as well as attacks on positions of the Yemeni government forces in Marib and Hadramout, which resulted in casualties.
In a statement issued today, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Nabil Fahmy said that targeting Saudi territory and endangering the lives of civilians, together with the continued attacks and military escalation in Yemen, represented a highly dangerous course that threatens regional security and stability and undermines prospects for de-escalation and a political settlement.
The statement expressed the League's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the face of any attack targeting its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, while also stressing the need to halt Houthi attacks and the ongoing escalation within Yemen.
It also emphasized that the current stage requires ending the escalation, refraining from actions that could widen the conflict, and returning to the political process in a manner that preserves Saudi Arabia's security and Yemen's stability, unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. (QNA)
