Egyptian President, Greek PM Stress Need for Comprehensive US-Iran Agreement
Cairo, August 05 (QNA) - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underscored, during a phone call today with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the importance of reaching a peaceful settlement and a comprehensive agreement between the United States and Iran, in a way that would help reduce tensions, prevent the conflict from expanding, and safeguard the security and sovereignty of Arab countries, as well as the stability of the region.
During the call, El Sisi reviewed Egypt's intensive efforts, in coordination with mediators, to implement the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and ensure the delivery of humanitarian and relief assistance. He stressed the need for the international community and European countries to shoulder their responsibilities in supporting these efforts and alleviating the humanitarian suffering endured by the people of Gaza.
For his part, the Greek Prime Minister emphasized the importance of prioritizing political and peaceful solutions to resolve crises, reaffirming his government's commitment to continued coordination and consultation with Egypt on regional and international issues of mutual concern. (QNA)
