New York, August 04 (QNA) - Gold prices edged lower on Tuesday as uncertainty over the conflict in the Middle East and lingering inflation concerns kept investors cautious ahead of a series of US employment reports due later this week that could offer fresh clues on the Federal Reserve's policy path.

Spot gold fell 0.3% to $4,029.84 an ounce, while US gold futures for August delivery slipped 0.5% to $4,029.00 an ounce.

Among other precious metals, spot silver declined 0.8% to $57.18 an ounce, platinum fell 1.6% to $1,616.42 an ounce, and palladium dropped 1.8% to $1,251.16 an ounce. (QNA)
