Qatar Women's Volleyball Team to Compete in West Asia Championship in Jordan
Doha, August 31 (QNA) - The Qatar women's volleyball team will participate in the third edition of the West Asia Volleyball Championship, to be held in Amman, Jordan, from Sep. 3 to 7, featuring Qatar, Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon.
The Qatari delegation will depart for Amman on Tuesday, with the team aiming for positive results, the title and a qualification spot for the 2027 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship.
Qatar will open its campaign against hosts Jordan on Thursday, Sep. 3, at 6pm. It will face Iraq on Sep. 5 at 4pm before concluding its campaign against Lebanon on Sep. 7 at 4pm.
The tournament will be played in a single round-robin format, with each team playing three matches.
The team with the most wins will be crowned champion, while the winner will secure direct qualification for the 2027 Asian Championship.
The Qatari squad includes 12 players and is coached by Argentine Lucas Carolo, assisted by Nahuel Alejandro. The squad also includes technical, administrative and medical staff. (QNA)
