Doha, August 26 (QNA) - As part of preparations for the Qatar Cup 2026, the Qatar Stars League (QSL) held Technical Meeting for the semifinals on Wednesday.
The meeting also reviewed and discussed several organizational and technical aspects, most notably the tournament guidelines and procedures, matchday operations and the importance of arriving at the stadium on time to ensure all arrangements proceed according to plan.
Official kits for each team, both home and away, were also approved. The Referees Department representative emphasized the importance of full cooperation with match officials and adherence to refereeing decisions.
Both semifinal matches are scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Al Sadd will face Al Gharafa at Khalifa International Stadium, to be followed by the Al Shamal vs Al Rayyan game at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium of Al Sadd club.
The final match is scheduled for Friday, December 11, 2026, at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
Tournament regulations state that if any match ends in a draw after regulation time, penalty kicks will be used straightaway to determine the winning team.
Director of Competitions at QSL Ahmed Salman Al Adsani emphasized the importance of cooperation and coordination among all parties to ensure the matches are organized to an exceptional standard. (QNA)
