Arab League: Removing Syria from US State Sponsors of Terrorism List Key Step Toward Recovery and Reconstruction
Cairo, August 26 (QNA) - The Arab League welcomed the United States' decision to remove Syria from its list of state sponsors of terrorism, describing it as an important step toward recovery and ending decades of suffering.
In a statement on Wednesday, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy stressed the importance of the decision, noting that it would encourage the international community to step up support for the Syrian government’s efforts to accelerate recovery and reconstruction and help fulfill the Syrian people’s aspirations for security, stability and prosperity.
Fahmy also reaffirmed the Arab League’s readiness to fully assume its responsibilities in supporting Syria during the current phase across political and development fields. (QNA)
