Doha, August 25 (QNA) - The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will conclude Wednesday the activities of the "Summer Care Activity," which PHCC organized for the first time with the participation of 123 students, who were distributed across 6 health centers, in an educational and practical experience that combined theoretical knowledge and direct application, and opened up wider horizons for the participants to learn about the health work environment and various medical specialties.
The events witnessed interaction from the students, who had the opportunity to learn more about the nature of work within health centers, to learn about the roles of medical staff, in addition to visiting a number of different clinics and specialties.
The participants affirmed that the experience represented an important milestone in their journey, especially for students who are considering pursuing medical specialties in the future, as it allowed them to experience the atmosphere of health work and learn about its responsibilities and the diversity of its fields before making their university decisions.
The experiences varied from one center to another, as the health centers hosted groups of students who interacted with the program through meetings, visits and practical activities, within the framework of broadening the horizons of the new generation and introduce them to future job opportunities in the health sector.
On the other hand, the PHCC, represented by the School Health Service, urged parents to prepare early for the return to schools and to pay attention to the health, psychological and social aspects that prepare children for the start of a successful school year, and provide them with a safe educational environment that enhances their physical and mental health, and raises their ability to learn, integrate and achieve the best levels of academic achievement.
PHCC indicated that returning to school is not limited to buying school supplies, but begins with the student's comprehensive preparation in terms of health, physical, psychological, emotional and mental aspects, in addition to building a healthy daily routine that helps the student transition smoothly from summer vacation to school life.
PHCC recommended that parents and students prepare for the return to schools by gradually restoring their sleep and study routines, reducing the use of electronic devices, encouraging reading and time management, and following up on checkups, vaccinations and health conditions when needed. (QNA)
