Berlin, August 25 (QNA) - Germany's Federal Statistical Office announced that the economy grew by 0.3 percent in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the previous quarter, exceeding the initial estimate of 0.2 percent, following growth of 0.4 percent in the first quarter. Europe's largest economy thus recorded growth for the third consecutive quarter. 
President of Germany's Federal Statistical Office, Ruth Brand, said that growth was, as in the first quarter, driven mainly by the strength of exports. 
Exports of goods and services rose by 2 percent in the second quarter compared with the previous quarter, while both private and government consumption increased by 0.1 percent, whereas investment declined in sectors including machinery and vehicles. (QNA)
