Gulf Champions Cup: Al Duhail Drawn in Group A, Qatar SC in Group B
Doha, August 24 (QNA) - The draw for the third edition of the Gulf Club Champions League for the 2026-27 football season was held today, with Al Duhail and Qatar SC representing Qatari football in the regional competition.
The draw placed Al Duhail in Group A, alongside Saudi Arabia's Neom, Oman's Al Shabab, and Yemen's Shabwat Hadramout.
Qatar SC was drawn in Group B, together with Iraq's Al-Zawraa, Bahrain's Al-Riffa, and the UAE's Al-Nasr.
Group C features Saudi Arabia's Al-Ettifaq, UAE's Ajman, Iraq's Erbil, and Kuwait's Kazma.
The group stage will be played in a two-leg league format, with home-and-away fixtures beginning October 13, 2026, in a season featuring a strong lineup of leading Gulf clubs.
The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams across the three groups, will advance to the quarter-finals.
The quarter-finals will be contested over two legs from March 2 to 17, 2027, while the semi-finals and final are scheduled to take place from April 23 to 30, 2027.
Al Rayyan were crowned champions of the second edition of the tournament last year, defeating Saudi Arabia's Al Shabab 3-0 in the final. (QNA)
