Beirut, August 02 (QNA) - Five Lebanese soldiers were injured on Sunday after a suspicious object exploded in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese Army said in a statement that the soldiers sustained minor injuries when the object exploded in the town of Kfara, Bint Jbeil, while their vehicle was escorting residents.

The incident comes amid ongoing security tensions in southern Lebanon, where the Lebanese Army has been expanding its deployment under a US-brokered framework agreement that provides for security arrangements, redeployment of the Lebanese Army in southern Lebanon, measures for the reconstruction of affected areas, economic recovery, and establishment of direct communication channels between the two sides.
