Doha, August 15 (QNA) - QatarDebate Center has concluded its Summer Debate Camp (Arabic), held at the Center's headquarters in Education City, with the participation of children aged between 10 and 13 years.
Held over four days, the Arabic-language training program focused on introducing participants to the fundamentals of debating, thought-structuring skills, building arguments, and expressing ideas clearly, all whilst learning through training and practice.
The final day featured an educational film screening followed by a discussion of the issues addressed by the film.
Moreover, a mini closing tournament consisting of three rounds was also held, allowing participants to apply the skills they had acquired in a competitive environment suited to their age group.
QatarDebate Center's Elite Academy program graduate, coach Farah Al Harbi supervised the summer camp and was supported by six members of the Al Adaam debate team and university debaters, who handled daily assessments and provided guidance.
Commenting on the event, coach Al Harbi said that the Summer Debate Camp saw significant progress in students' engagement and their ability to express their ideas and gradually build their confidence, which was clearly reflected in discussions and group activities.
Meanwhile, assistant coach Mohammed Al Emadi expressed his happiness at passing on his experience to a new generation of students, noting that he himself was a QatarDebate Center graduate before returning as a coach.
The Arabic edition of the summer camp builds on the Center's English edition held back in July, as part of the Center's programs targeting young people which are designed to develop their debating skills in both Arabic and English. (QNA)
