Doha, August 15 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) announced that 3,793 places are available for Qatari students at 17 private schools under its social responsibility initiative, with parents paying no additional tuition fees beyond the value of the education voucher.

During a presentation on the initiative, the ministry said the education voucher is valued at QR 28,000 annually, in line with the approved regulations.

Dr. Rania Yousry Mohamed, Director of the Private Schools and Kindergartens Department and Acting Director of the Private Schools Licensing Department, said the ministry covers the value of the education voucher, while schools cover any tuition fees exceeding the voucher amount, based on their approved fee schedules. As a result, parents will not have to pay any additional tuition fees for their children.

She added that the ministry has reopened applications for all Qatari students wishing to benefit from the initiative, with parents able to apply directly for a place through the Private Schools Licensing Department to facilitate the process.

The ministry has also removed the previous QR 35,000 monthly income limit, which had been an eligibility requirement. All Qatari parents can now apply for a place regardless of their income, while applications previously rejected solely because of income have been reviewed and the applicants have been offered places.

She explained that the list includes 17 private educational institutions across the country offering Qatari students places fully covered by the education voucher, with no additional fees charged to parents, across a range of curricula and grade levels.

The participating schools include Al Andalus Private Schools for Boys (Evening) and Al Andalus Private Schools for Girls (Evening), Al Arqam Academy for Girls, The Cambridge School Doha, Cambridge International School, American Academy School - Al Thumama Branch, Etqan Global Academy, Alpha Cambridge School, Awfaz Global School and its Al Gharafa branch, Beta Cambridge School, Al Koon International Private Academy and its Evening and Muaither branches, Afaq Private Primary School, and Loydence Academy - Al Aziziyah Branch.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education said the initiative is part of efforts to support Qatari families and provide diverse and competitive educational options, ensuring access to high-quality education across various approved curricula and in different parts of the country. (QNA)
