Upon arriving in Ahmedabad, the team entered a training camp under Algerian coach Monir Ben Ghalla, focusing on preparing the players, finalizing the lineup for the opening game, and working on technical and tactical aspects.
Qatar will begin its campaign against Iran on Friday in Group C, before facing China on Sunday and Sri Lanka on Tuesday in the group stage.
The 12-player squad includes Abdullah Yassin, Tamim Ashraf Abu Issa, Ziad Al Bitar, Muath Omar Musa, Azzam Mohammed Yakan, Ziad Tamer Al Johari, Mohammed Saeed Badri, Mahmoud Tamer Ibrahim, Amer Ibrahim Musa, Owen Ekena, Yousef Waleed Abdulqader, and Shahi Mohammed.
The tournament is particularly important for Qatar as it also serves as a qualifier for the 2027 FIBA U19 World Cup in the Czech Republic, with the top four teams in the Asian Championship earning qualification.
The team had completed its preparations in Doha through an intensive training program at the Al Gharafa Sports Hall, where the coaching staff worked to raise the players' technical and physical readiness. (QNA)
