Cairo, August 10 (QNA) - The League of Arab States deemed the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks rejecting the 15-point roadmap for implementing a comprehensive peace plan in the Gaza Strip, and his insistence on preventing the establishment of a Palestinian state in Gaza or the West Bank, to be a sign of a blatant disregard for international will and the terms of reference for the peace process.

This directly undermines the chances for a peaceful settlement and the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace.

In a statement issued today, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy stressed that Israel's continued and repeated violations of the ceasefire, including attacks targeting civilians and medical facilities in the Gaza Strip, constitute a flagrant breach of existing commitments and the requirements of relevant UN resolutions.

 He welcomed the clear position expressed by the foreign ministers of the eight Arab and Islamic states in their statement issued on August 6 regarding these violations.

Fahmy reiterated the importance of the full and serious implementation of the comprehensive peace plan and the completion of the path established by the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit in October 2025.

He warned that Israel's continued attempts to impose new realities on the ground in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, and its expansion of control over Palestinian land, aim to entrench the occupation and undermine the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state. He emphasized that these actions blatantly violate international law and relevant UN resolutions.

Fahmy called on US President Donald Trump and the international community to uphold their responsibilities in ensuring the full implementation of the comprehensive peace plan, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2803 of 2025, and to pressure the Israeli government to cease its violations and fulfill its obligations, thereby preserving the prospects for a just and lasting settlement.
