GCC, ILO Discuss Closer Cooperation
Geneva, July 08 (QNA) - GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi met with Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Gilbert Houngbo in Geneva on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the GCC General Secretariat, the meeting reviewed a range of issues of mutual interest, with a focus on enhancing cooperation between the GCC and the ILO.
The discussions also covered proposals to align joint efforts in support of the shared objectives of the GCC and the ILO.
The GCC Secretary-General praised the ILO's efforts to promote social justice and protect workers' rights, noting that GCC member states have enacted numerous laws and regulations to safeguard workers' rights in line with international standards.
For his part, Houngbo expressed appreciation for the GCC countries' continued support for the organization's work and commended the progress they have made in advancing labor standards and workers' rights. (QNA)
