34 Miners Killed in Explosion at Coal Mine in Pakistan
Islamabad, July 31 (QNA) - At least 34 miners were killed in a methane gas explosion at a coal mine in Balochistan province, southern Pakistan.
According to information from rescue teams deployed at the site, 34 bodies have been recovered, the provincial disaster management authority said in a statement today.
It added that joint rescue teams are continuing their search and rescue operations for any remaining trapped miners, without specifying the number of people who were inside the mine at the time of the explosion.
Local sources reported that the explosion caused significant damage to the mine, which is located near Quetta, the capital of the mineral-rich province of Balochistan. (QNA)
