Turkish President: Turkiye Will Continue Supporting Lebanon's Institutional Capacity Building
Ankara, July 30 (QNA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkiye will continue to support efforts to strengthen Lebanon's institutional capacities, in addition to maintaining its humanitarian and technical assistance.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun following their talks on Thursday, Erdogan said Turkiye wants to be part of all initiatives aimed at safeguarding Lebanon's sovereignty following the withdrawal of the current international force.
He stressed that Turkiye is closely following diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending the Israeli aggression and occupation.
Erdogan also reaffirmed Turkiye's readiness to provide all possible support for the reconstruction of southern Lebanon following the Israeli attacks.
For his part, President Aoun said the Lebanese-Turkish partnership must be part of shaping the future.
He added that his visit to Turkiye reflects the deep-rooted ties between our two countries and a shared determination to strengthen cooperation in ways that contribute to regional stability.
Aoun also expressed appreciation for Turkiye's commitment to supporting the Lebanese army and its contribution to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). (QNA)
