Doha, July 02 (QNA) - HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah Al Khater has approved the first-round results of the General Secondary Certificate examinations for the 2025–2026 academic year.

The announcement was made during an official meeting at the ministry's headquarters in Doha, attended by senior officials and education leaders.

The minister congratulated successful students and their families, saying the results reflected a year of sustained effort and dedication. She also praised the contributions of teachers, school administrators and families in supporting students throughout the academic year.

Overall pass rates varied across educational tracks. In the daytime scientific track, the success rate stood at 90.10%, while adult education recorded 37.93%. In the humanities track, the pass rate reached 82.24% in daytime study and 52.10% in adult education. The technological track recorded a pass rate of 80.14%.

Several schools achieved particularly strong results. Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys recorded a 100% pass rate, while the Religious Institute Preparatory and Secondary School for Boys achieved 97.87%. Qatar Technical Secondary School recorded 89.24% in daytime study and 83.72% in adult education.

Qatar Banking Studies and Business Administration Secondary School, along with the two Audio Education Schools, also achieved a 100% pass rate.

The parallel track for adult education recorded a pass rate of 41.80%.

In a press conference following the announcement, Assistant Undersecretary for Evaluation Affairs at the ministry, Khalid Abdullah Al Harqan, said 16,486 students sat the examinations across different academic tracks.

He said the results reflected strong performance levels, noting that 50 students achieved a perfect score of 100% in the scientific track. He added that the success of the academic year was due to coordinated efforts across state institutions and the dedication of school staff.

Al Harqan also highlighted the role of administrative and teaching staff in maintaining stability and quality throughout the academic year, praising what he described as strong teamwork across the education sector.

Al Harqan added that male students accounted for the majority of those who achieved full marks this year, with 31 boys compared to 19 girls, describing this as reflecting the level of academic competition and excellence witnessed during the academic year.

He said overall indicators pointed to a marked improvement in academic attainment compared with previous years. He noted that 10,898 students achieved a score of 70% or above, qualifying them for admission to higher education institutions in Qatar and abroad, adding that this represented a clear sign of the continued development of the education system.

He also said 3,501 students did not pass the first round of examinations, but stressed that they would still have the opportunity to sit the second-round exams.

Meanwhile, Director of the Student Assessment Department Ibrahim Abdullah Al Mohannadi said the achievement reflected the efforts of the entire education system, describing it as the result of a full academic year of continuous work and cooperation between students, families and schools.

He said the process extended beyond the examination period to include marking, review, verification and moderation, adding that the ministry had worked to build an assessment system based on transparency, accuracy and fairness.

Al Mohannadi added that examination centers, invigilators and supervisors had played a key role in ensuring a well-regulated testing environment, stressing that discipline was essential to maintaining fairness.

Director of Public Relations and Communication Maryam Al Mohannadi said success in the secondary certificate examinations was not an individual achievement alone, but the result of partnership between families, schools and teachers.

She said results day remained a significant milestone for students and families, marked by anticipation, emotion and hope, before culminating in what she described as the joy of success and achievement.

She added that she hoped students would continue their academic journeys with confidence and excellence, contributing to the future development of Qatar. (QNA)
