246 Trainees Participate in QNA Training Programs During First Half of 2026
Doha, July 19 (QNA) - The Qatar News Agency (QNA) Training Center concluded its training programs for the first half of 2026, which were organized as part of the center's annual plan.
A total of 246 trainees from QNA and several government entities participated.
The first half of 2026 saw the organization of 15 specialized media training courses and workshops, in addition to the foundational program for new employees and the training program for students in the Department of Mass Communication at Qatar University.
The media training programs were divided into 10 training courses, attended by 163 participants, including 126 employees from QNA and 37 participants from various government entities. In addition, five specialized workshops were held, benefiting 50 participants.
The training courses covered a range of media-related fields, including editorial policy, photojournalism, video filming and editing, field news reporting, media monitoring and editing, multimedia journalism, social media monitoring, Arabic language for media professionals, advanced public relations skills, and news podcast production.
The workshops addressed topics such as the role of the media in supporting the Third National Development Strategy, data analysis using ChatGPT, professional presentation and public speaking skills, data protection, and Microsoft Copilot.
These courses and workshops combined both theoretical and practical components and drew on the professional expertise of QNA. They were supported by an advanced training environment and modern technical facilities provided by the QNA Training Center.
The QNA Training Center also implemented its orientation program for new employees, which is organized annually as part of the QNA's commitment to helping new staff integrate into the workplace and equipping them to perform their duties effectively from their first day on the job.
This year's orientation program was attended by 22 employees and included 10 introductory workshops covering QNA's mission, vision, and institutional values, as well as the roles and responsibilities of its various departments and divisions, employees' rights and obligations, and the agency's internal policies and procedures.
As part of its commitment to developing promising national media talent, the QNA Training Center welcomed 11 students from the Department of Mass Communication at Qatar University during the first half of the year. The training program was conducted in two phases: the first included four students, while the second included seven female students.
The program provided participants with practical, hands-on training within Qatar News Agency's editorial departments through field visits and intensive professional exercises. During the program, they gained firsthand experience with the various stages of news production, including editing, monitoring, proofreading, and publishing, as well as planning and executing field news coverage.
The QNA Training Center is scheduled to resume its training programs in September as part of its annual training plan, which includes more than 20 training courses in addition to specialized workshops.
The upcoming courses will cover areas such as news writing and editing, digital media, corporate communications, media translation, artificial intelligence applications in media, and other subjects that reflect the evolving requirements of the modern media industry.
