Doha, July 18 (QNA) - The State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the renewed attacks launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the territories of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Kuwait. It considered them a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the targeted countries, and a blatant breach of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and the principles of good neighborliness.
In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that targeting electricity and water desalination plants in the State of Kuwait crosses all red lines and constitutes an egregious violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which emphasizes respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these countries and rejects targeting civilians and vital infrastructure.
The Ministry stressed that the continuation of these attacks represents a dangerous escalation that will complicate efforts to contain tensions and undermine political and diplomatic endeavors aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.
The Ministry underscored the need for an immediate and complete cessation of all military actions and attacks that threaten the security and stability of the region, the avoidance of any actions that could widen the scope of the escalation, a genuine return to dialogue and negotiations, and adherence to the understandings reached through diplomatic efforts.
