2 Killed, 24 Injured in Israeli Airstrikes on Southern Lebanon
Beirut, June 07 (QNA) – Israeli warplanes launched several airstrikes yesterday on various areas of Lebanon, killing two people and injuring 24 others.
Lebanon's National News Agency reported Sunday that two people were killed and 22 others, including three children, were injured in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Siksikieh in the Tyre district. Another drone strike injured two people in the town of Shahabieh today.
Israeli warplanes also launched numerous airstrikes on several areas in southern Lebanon, coinciding with artillery shelling that targeted the towns of Baraashit and Shaqra in the Tyre district.
The United States announced last Thursday that Israel and Lebanon had reached a ceasefire agreement following the conclusion of the second and final day of the fourth round of negotiations between the two sides in Washington. However, this agreement has yet to be implemented. (QNA)
