Riyadh, June 06 (QNA) - Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi affirmed that Gulf youth represent the fundamental pillar in building the future of the GCC states and achieving their countries' national visions, highlighting their clear imprints on the march of comprehensive Gulf development.

This statement was made on the occasion of Gulf Youth Day, celebrated annually on June 6. "This occasion serves as an important milestone for the Council states to celebrate the vital role played by Gulf youth across all fields," Albudaiwi noted.

Moreover, the GCC Secretary General stated that the GCC countries -under the supreme directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the Leaders of the member states- place paramount importance on empowering the youth.

"This is demonstrated by adopting regulations and resolutions, as well as developing policies, strategies, and initiatives aimed at honing their skills, enhancing their capabilities, and preparing them to help address challenges and seize opportunities across various developmental sectors," he pointed out.

Furthermore, Albudaiwi indicated that "The qualitative accomplishments made by the GCC nations in the youth field reflect the keenness of the Council's leadership to invest in this vital demographic and to launch initiatives that elevate the role of youth in achieving sustainable development."
