Media City Qatar Launches Research Series On Emerging Gulf Media Trends
Doha, June 30 (QNA) - Media City Qatar has launched a series of specialist research papers examining emerging trends in the media industry across the Gulf and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, as it seeks to provide investors, businesses and content creators with data-driven insights into the sector's rapid transformation.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the organization said the series had been produced in partnership with technology research firm Omdia and draws on market analysis to identify the key trends shaping the future of the regional media landscape.
The reports will focus on priority sectors including gaming and interactive digital content, television, radio and music production, digital technologies and social media platforms, as well as media agencies and supporting services.
Media City Qatar Chief Executive Hamad Omar Al Mannai said the research was designed to help investors, companies, content creators and policymakers better understand changes taking place across the Gulf and MENA media industries, supporting the development of the media ecosystem in Qatar and the wider region.
The first report examines the rapid growth of micro-drama – short-form scripted productions created for smartphone viewing – analyzing its popularity in Gulf markets, production models and the commercial opportunities created by rising mobile content consumption.
A second report, expected in the coming weeks, will explore the fast-growing video podcast sector, covering audience engagement, platform dynamics, revenue opportunities and the role of artificial intelligence in content creation.
Media City Qatar said further reports would be released over the coming months to track developments in the regional media industry and align with evolving global trends, reinforcing its role in supporting the sector's growth. (QNA)
