Google Expands Free Access to Nano Banana Image Generation in Gemini
Washington, June 30 (QNA) - Google has expanded free access to its Nano Banana-powered image generation feature in the Gemini app to all eligible users in the United States, broadening availability beyond subscribers to its Plus, Pro, and Ultra plans.
The feature, which Google introduced in April as part of its Personal Intelligence capabilities, enables Gemini to generate personalized images based on a user's interests and preferences without requiring detailed text prompts.
To personalize results, Gemini can draw on data associated with a user's Google account, including Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Google Search. It can also use photos stored in Google Photos to create new images without requiring users to upload them each time.
The feature is available on an opt-in basis, allowing users to choose which Google services Gemini can access. Once enabled, personalization is turned on by default for image-generation requests but can be disabled at any time through a new toggle in the app's Tools menu.
Separately, Google last month unveiled several upcoming Gemini updates, including the Daily Brief feature, a redesigned user interface, access to the Gemini Omni AI video model, and a new personal AI agent called Gemini Spark.
Earlier this year, Gemini surpassed 750 million monthly active users, reinforcing its position as one of the leading competitors in the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence market. (QNA)
