GCC's Electricity and Water Cooperation Committee Holds Extraordinary Meeting
Manama, June 29 (QNA) - The Electricity and Water Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on Monday held its extraordinary meeting, via videoconference. The meeting was chaired by Bahrain.
GCC Secretary-General of the GCC, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, stated that Their Excellencies the Officials Responsible for Electricity and Water in the GCC states reviewed the directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the Leaders of the GCC states, at their 19th Consultative Meeting, to discuss and study future GCC projects related to electricity and water.
He added that the meeting comes within the framework of implementing the directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the Leaders of the GCC states, at their 19th Consultative Meeting, which called for ministerial committees and similar bodies to continue holding intensive meetings to follow up on developments related to the current crisis in all its aspects, and to submit recommendations and proposals to address them.
The Secretary-General noted that this meeting comes within the framework of implementing the directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries, issued during their 19th Consultative Meeting, which stipulated that ministerial committees and their equivalents should continue to hold their meetings intensively.
Albudaiwi expressed gratitude and appreciation to Their Excellencies the Officials for their kind directives to their relevant teams to exert all efforts and coordinate with the Higher Committee at the General Secretariat, reflecting their continued keenness and valued commitment to strengthening the journey of joint GCC action.
