Monterrey, June 25 (QNA) - South Africa qualified for the round of 32 of the FIFA 2026 World Cup after defeating South Korea 1-0 in the final round of Group A matches.

The first half was goalless despite both teams' efforts. South Africa scored the only goal of the match in the 63rd minute.

South Africa maintained their lead until the final whistle thanks to a well-organized defense and a stellar performance from goalkeeper Ronwen Williams. This win brings their total to four points, moving them up to second place in Group A, one point ahead of South Korea.

With this victory, South Africa reached the knockout stages of the World Cup for the first time in its history, having been eliminated in the group stages in its three previous appearances.

South Africa is scheduled to face Canada in the round of 32 next Sunday, while South Korea awaits the results of the other groups. (QNA)
