Qatar Sports Minister Visits Injured Canada Midfielder at World Cup

Vancouver (Canada), June 24 (QNA) - HE Minister of Sports and Youth Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani visited Canada midfielder ​Ismael Kone after he suffered an injury during his side's World Cup match against Qatar.
HE the minister wished the player a speedy recovery and swift return to action. The minister was accompanied by Qatar international Assim Madibo, who was involved in the collision that led to the injury early in the second half of the Group B match. 
The pair were received by Canadian Soccer Association President Peter Augruso, who commended the visit as a gesture of high level of sportsmanship.
Commentators said the visit sought to provide moral support to the Canadian player and reflected sportsmanship and positive relationships between the participating teams.(QNA)
