Japanese Stocks Close Lower
Tokyo, June 24 (QNA) - Japanese stock indexes closed lower at the end of trading on Wednesday.
The Nikkei index fell for a second consecutive day, dropping 0.88 percent to close at 69,174.97 points, retreating from the record high it reached on Monday.
The broader Topix index also declined 0.67 percent, ending trading at 3,963.76 points.
Ninety-one stocks on the Nikkei advanced, 131 declined, while three were unchanged.
Chip-related shares were among the decliners, with Tokyo Electron falling 4.19 percent and Disco dropping 3.78 percent. Insurance stocks also fell sharply, led by T&D Holdings, which lost 5.74 percent. (QNA)
