FIFA 2026 World Cup: Norway Beats Senegal 3-2, Qualifies for Round of 32

New Jersey, June 23 (QNA) - Norway secured its place in the round of 32 at the FIFA 2026 World Cup after defeating Senegal 3-2 in the second match of Group I.

Norway secured its advancement in the tournament with six points from two matches. France also qualified for the round of 32 after defeating Iraq and Senegal.

Marcus Pedersen scored for Norway in the 43rd minute and Erling Haaland extended their lead in the 48th minute from an assist from Martin Odegaard.

In the second half, Ismaila Sarr scored for Senegal in the 53rd minute, but Haaland scored his second (and Norway's third) goal in the 58th minute. Sarr also scored his second goal in the 93rd minute, however, the match ended 3-2 in Norway's favor.

France and Norway top Group I with 6 points each, with France having a better goal difference. Meanwhile, Senegal and Iraq both have 0 points. (QNA)
