Rabat Panel Discusses Strengthening Palestinian Narrative on Al-Quds in Global Media
Rabat, June 22 (QNA) - A panel discussion was convened Monday in Rabat, Morocco to delve deep into Jerusalem (Al-Quds) as a global narrative for peace.
Organized by Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, in collaboration with Moroccan, Arab, and Islamic institutions, the two-day panel discussed strengthening the influential presence of the Palestinian narrative in international media.
The key goal was to stand in defense of the Jerusalem cause in the face of all attempts by the Israeli occupation to obliterate its identity, along with the restrictions the occupation imposes in this respect.
In his inaugural remarks before the panel, Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Communication, Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, stressed that what is conspicuously required is a media discourse that is open to the world.
This discourse should essentially wield all components of conviction, seriousness, and credibility, Khattabi said, adding that it should be a refined, plausible, and informative discourse that engages all academic and media actors, as well as professionals, working in a lockstep.
He suggested that this move would help earn further countenance from global public opinion and propel international initiatives to end the conflict and embody Palestinian national statehood, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the pillars of the Arab Peace Initiative.
In this regard, Khattabi affirmed that he is grateful to Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency and the Moroccan institutions for launching this conversation as part of the activities naming Rabat the Capital of Arab Media for 2026.
This is alongside incorporating Jerusalem- with its spiritual and humanitarian depth- into the program of this initiative pursuant to the decision of the Council of Arab Information Ministers. (QNA)
