Daman Launches Financial Wellbeing Program for Retirees in Cooperation with QFBA
Doha, June 22 (QNA) - The General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (Daman) announced on Monday the launch of the Financial Wellbeing Program for Retirees in cooperation with Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA), as part of efforts to enhance financial literacy among retirees and support their ability to manage post-retirement life with greater efficiency and stability.
The initiative forms part of Daman's efforts to improve retirees' quality of life and aligns with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 in the areas of human and social development.
In a statement, Daman said the program is designed to equip retirees with the knowledge and practical tools needed to navigate the financial changes associated with retirement through specialized training workshops focusing on budget management, lifestyle finance, and long-term financial planning.
The program comprises three integrated workshops, each addressing a key aspect of financial wellbeing to meet the varying needs of retirees at different stages of retirement.
The first workshop, titled "A Confident Start to Retirement: The Foundations of Managing Your New Budget," was held on Sunday and focused on helping new retirees manage the transition from employment income to retirement income, develop realistic budgets, understand various income sources, and establish financial plans that support a stable start to retirement.
The second workshop, "Financing Your Lifestyle: Financial Strategies for Active Retirement," is scheduled for Tuesday and will focus on helping retirees balance lifestyle aspirations with financial stability through effective spending management and appropriate investment strategies.
The third workshop, "Financial Peace of Mind: Simplifying Asset Management and Planning for the Future," will be held on Wednesday and will address asset preservation, future planning, inheritance and estate-related matters, and financial preparedness for long-term healthcare costs.
Daman said the program reflects its commitment to supporting retirees through initiatives that promote financial knowledge and skills, enabling beneficiaries to make informed and sustainable financial decisions during retirement.
The program is supported by QNB Group as strategic sponsor and Al Rayan Bank as platinum sponsor, highlighting the significance of national partnerships in advancing financial awareness and literacy initiatives.
Daman reaffirmed the commitment to developing programs and initiatives that support the social and economic stability of retirees, enhance their quality of life, and contribute to the realization of the State's vision for a productive and sustainable society. (QNA)
