Makkah Al-Mukarramah, June 19 (QNA) - The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the continued attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, the latest of which targeted the Grand Mosque in the village of Jiljilya and Al-Farouq Mosque north of Ramallah.
In a statement issued by the MWL General Secretariat, Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa denounced the escalating waves of violence carried out by settlers against Palestinians and their property and sacred sites in the occupied West Bank. He said the attacks constitute a grave violation of the sanctity of places of worship and of all international and humanitarian laws and norms, undermine peace efforts, and threaten security and stability in the region.
He stressed the urgent need for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities by taking an urgent and serious stance towards these attacks, appreciating the contents of the statement issued in this regard by 8 Arab and Islamic countries to confront all Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territory, their firm solidarity with the Palestinian people and the protection of their resources and holy sites, and their unwavering support for their legitimate national rights, foremost among them: their right to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, in accordance with the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions.
