Israeli Attacks on Southern Lebanon Continue
Beirut, May 09 (QNA) - The Israeli occupation army continued attacks on southern Lebanon on Saturday, in violation of the ceasefire that entered into force on April 16 for ten days before being extended on April 24 for an additional three weeks.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that an Israeli drone carried out three airstrikes targeting a man and his daughter in the city of Nabatieh, killing the father and injuring his daughter.
Israeli drones also launched airstrikes this morning on Nabatieh Al Fawqa and Kfar Tebnit roundabout, amid reports of several casualties. Another airstrike targeted a tire repair shop on the main road between the towns of Shahabiya and Kfar Dounine.
In the same context, the towns of Arnoun, Kfar Tebnit, and Nabatieh were subjected to intermittent artillery shelling, while Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike shortly after midnight on a house in the town of Harouf, completely destroying it.
After midnight, the Israeli occupation army fired several artillery shells toward the towns of Majdal Zoun, Al Mansouri, and Beit Siyad, before shelling resumed alongside machine-gun fire targeting Bayada area, where clashes with the Lebanese side were reported.
The occupation army also dropped illumination flares overnight over villages in the western and central sectors, while several houses in Jubbana neighborhood of the city of Bint Jbeil were demolished.
At dawn, artillery shelling targeted the outskirts of the town of Ghandouriyeh with several shells.
In a separate development, the occupation army issued an urgent warning to residents of several Lebanese towns and villages, including Tayr Debba, Abbasiyeh, Burj Rahal, Maaroub, Barish, Arzoun, Jannata (Tyre), Zrariyeh, and Ain Baal. (QNA)
